Australian Travel

Updated: Jul 21, 2020

Well haven’t circumstances rejigged our bucket list to focus on Australian travel

We are so used to a major overseas trip each year when COVID19 made it clear that wasn’t happening our first reaction was to think how will get through a cold stay at home winter in Adelaide

As Australian travel became more possible we realized this was an amazing opportunity to get to the parts of Australia we haven’t been to and some parts we want to get to again

All of a sudden excitement was regenerated with the thoughts of travelling to the Kimberley, Cape York, the WA Coast, NSW Coast where we haven’t been and back to the Flinders Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Far North Queensland all places we have been to and want to return Plus short trips in South Australia for weekenders [or mid weekers for us “retirees”] to Clare Valley, Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale – just a coincidence they are all wine regions within an hour or two drive of Adelaide !

So now we have so much local travel we want to do in 2020 and 2021 we don’t know where our next overseas trip will fit in when eventually that becomes possible

Being forced to look inwards for travel options has been a great reminder of how lucky we are to live in this amazing country and can enjoy so many Australian travel experiences

But just to keep the overseas travel flame flickering we will slowly work away and what we would like to do next when we can – we all need a dream – sigh !

Having just binge watched Shetland episodes we want to go to Northern Scotland and the Shetland Islands along with Norway fjord and coastal country

But for the moment full steam ahead in 2021 – the Ghan Adelaide to Darwin, a Kimberley tour Darwin to Broome then a self drive wander down the WA Coast to Perth I never expected to be excited about a road trip again ! So for the next while our energy will be directed domestically [with just a twist of international as well]

` We would love you to join us on our rejigged bucket list of adventures

Come along for the ride

There’s plenty of room
